After painting the plant I looked around the house for some inspiration. Now that I'm painting and drawing again it doesn't take much to find something to challenge myself. Like most artists (or just geeks) I have toys laying around my studio. Woody and Buzz seemed like good subjects. At least they sit still. I probably have one more post on this piece before it's done. Will follow up.
Couple other thoughts... In my renewed effort to improve my skills I've become somewhat scattered. I notice one post will be a self portrait, the next a full blown painting, the next a quick color study and then back to a finished painting. It's not only evident in my posts but offline I keep finding new areas to improve. I go from painting to figure studies to figurative motion studies to character design to landscapes... I just can't seem to focus. Any advice? Anybody... Bueller... Bueller...

I like this one Dave. I would say that the scatteredness you are talking about is not such a bad thing. I think when you are doing art, you can put restrictions on it. Let it flow as it may go. See where it takes you.
Thanks Keith. I have a tendency to get anxious about where all this is going. Occasionally I need a reminder to just let if flow.
