Lunch
Post number one! Thought I'd start with practicing my sketching skills. I was on assignment covering a Civil War camp for kids and their parents last year. I shot lots of photos and this little boy had some of the best expressions. Here he was having lunch... some corn bread.

I like this sketch, Dave. It's so expressive, and has the look of a life drawing, even though it's done from a photo.

Thank you all for your comments. Chuck, thanks for putting the word out too.

Agnes reminded me of something though. In college I drew from photos often. I always felt like drawing from life was something I should have done more often. So while I was in Florida this past weekend I gave it a shot. I figured if I'm going to do this I should push the learning thing. My next post will show those results.

Lydia getting a comment with even the name Rockwell in it is way flattering. Thanks!
