Post number one! Thought I'd start with practicing my sketching skills. I was on assignment covering a Civil War camp for kids and their parents last year. I shot lots of photos and this little boy had some of the best expressions. Here he was having lunch... some corn bread.

Welome to the Blogosphere Dave. We'r glad you're among us!
Any friend of Chuckles is a friend of mine---and, besides, you're talented, always a good sign among us artbloggers ;D.

I like this sketch, Dave. It's so expressive, and has the look of a life drawing, even though it's done from a photo.
another art blog! Yay! This is beautiful - reminds me a little of Rockwell. maybe his expression. more please!
Thank you all for your comments. Chuck, thanks for putting the word out too.
Agnes reminded me of something though. In college I drew from photos often. I always felt like drawing from life was something I should have done more often. So while I was in Florida this past weekend I gave it a shot. I figured if I'm going to do this I should push the learning thing. My next post will show those results.
Lydia getting a comment with even the name Rockwell in it is way flattering. Thanks!
Sketch on, Dave! Glad to see your creative energy sparkin'. (Found you through comments on Lydia's blog.)
