This is a test.
Testing testing one two three... is this thing still on? OK, so I know it's been a while. I have been playing around in Corel Painter and not been too happy with the learning curve I am going to be going through. But here it goes. This is out of my mind. Ahhh yes, that explains it I hear you saying. I'm not going to blather on about my direction right now. All I'll say is that I'm going to try to push the juxtaposition of man made structures in the natural environment. I'm not at all happy with this post but need to start somewhere.

Are the brush strokes/texture a unique thing to Corel Painter?

ok I don't know what it is you want visually, but I think this is a good study. Maybe you're goal is something that is too polished too soon. How about deliberately trying to start out with an ugly piece? Maybe then the nature part will drop right in.

Painter is gonna throw you off quite a bit if Adobe products are what you're used to. But the textures that you can get are pretty amazing. nice study!

jkaminski,
Yes the texture is unique to Painter. It's a little closer to real painting that Photoshop. It's a matter of just getting used to the tools.

skull,
When you say ugly are you talking about the subject. Example: an old trash dumpster instead of a crane? I do agree with you about the too "soon part". I am a little impatient that way. (Gotta get over that.)

error404,
Glad to see you started up your blog. Will definitely be adding it to my blogs list soon! Love your first post!

the approach my brotha. not subject matter. If you and I traded some of our ways we would both be supastahs. My initial approach is too sloppy and careless, but it might work for you. If you draw a line with some, but not much concern for where the next line will intersect - it(the whole of it) sometimes just falls into place, like the development of nature. Why is my fan turning backwards. Do you feel that breeze?
