Heading home tonight, after my late shift, I again noticed the lights on the highway. I find myself studying everything much closer and asking myself "now how would I paint that" or "how does lighting effect these things". As I drove under this sign I decided to do a quick sketch right after I got home while it was still fresh in my mind. This was about an hour sketch in photoshop experimenting with many different brushes, brush sizes, and opacities. Turned out ok I guess. For anyone from the D.C. area it's where I-270 splits off of I-495. There are a few radio towers off the highway there too.

Nice job! I know exactly where this is. I HATE this spot. It is a constant point of traffic congestion. But you have captured it beautifully.
That's exactly what it looks like at night.
Thanks Chuck. I need to try more of these "spur of the moment" paintings.
I think the same way was I travel down the highway. Good memory!
