These are an attempt at trying to invent a scene for movie a friend of mine wants to make. I'm trying to figure out a smart process for visual development. I only have scraps of what I've read in books and common sense at my disposal. Seems like it might be wise, like in other aspects of creativity, to start with a good plan and sketch. I drew these in order from top to bottom. I picked up something from each of them and transplanted it in the next. The scene describes people worshiping idols in the mountains. And the hero of the story is observing from a distance. I like the idea of the idols carved into the mountain side and a cliff that rises dramatically up to them so the people can throw their offerings over the edge. I used Painter X . My technique seemed to lend to defining the lighting too. I tried to do each one in under 10 minutes.
